My inspiration for this environment came from the movie Beauty and the Beast, The old woodplanks and tiles caught my interrest in making this scene.
I started with making Belle’s house as a three weeks project and ended up making the surrounding houses and garden working in four more weeks. During this process I also learned how to make good looking foliage, before I used photo textures on planes, I still have those in the scene but now I also have modelled and baked ones that looks much better. Most of my textures are photo textures that I used with B2M. I used the height map to make tessellation, making the textures more three-dimensional. I put out more flowers and lamps than in the original scene because it made the place more livelier.
Meshes are made in Maya, the stairs made of stone is sculpted in Zbrush, wall textures are made with B2M, props are textured with Substance painter and the scene is rendered in Unreal En
